I have not forgotten about the blog. I am just a terrible procrastinator.
Zach is still in Kansas and will be taking classes in the summer. He has a job that he can keep through the summer so that is good. There is nothing for him to do here.
Joe has since moved out of his dorm and into a house with other music students. He just had no desire to go back to the dorm after the little car got picked on. He is 21 now and living the life of a student. Joe does seem to enjoy his school though.
Ted turned 18 yesterday. I bought him a set of suitcases so he can leave in style. He graduates May 29 and then heads to the Univ. of Alabama to start studies in film. He is getting excited about UA. I think he will do fine.
Chris and Max are still homeschooling and taking care of the animals. They are both going to the Black Hills in June for a 2 week camp. That will be the first time Max will be away but at least he will have his brother with him. Although, where Zach and Joe did not bicker much, these two make up for it.
Tim is in town right now but I am sure his travel schedule will pick up again. No Hawaii trips though. I think places like California, Arizona, Tennessee, exotic places like that.
Mom has been spending a lot of time at the cabin, bank and lawyers. There is so much to take care of after you lose your spouse. Shadow has been sick and been to the vet often.
Me, I am slowly learning to accept that I am sick and that it is not going away. I am glad that the lung doc did not agree with the one RA doc about me having ILD. I will take mild bronchiectasis, inflammatory airways and inflammatory arthritis over ILD. I am on tons of meds for the lungs and now on RA meds like Arava and Plaquenil.
This is not going to go away and I will have to stay on meds and go to National Jewish forever. It sounds like they just want to slow the progression down and not have me get sick so much. I will not be able to go into the barn, cut grass or anything else that can irritate my lungs. That means the incense in Mass too. I am not sure how I will handle that one or not being able to cut grass this summer.
The goat herd will have to be thinned down. We would like to get in down to Kate and Fishy. I think I have found a home for the dairy goats. Any one wants so Boer goats?
We have a new roof on the house due to wind and hail. While they were going to be working on the roof I had a contractor put in bathroom vents and a range hood that vents outside. This way we can cook and get all the bad air out of the house with out having to open the windows when it is below freezing.
The next thing to happen will be painting the buildings. The weather has not been the best and the painter has been behind. After we have recovered from all that we would like to take out the carpet in the main room and put in tile. One of these years.
Life goes on, doesn't it! Change isn't always easy, and accepting chronic things is most difficult. You are in our prayers daily. We've missed you.
